東京都府中市に「桜通り」というその名の通り、春には満開の桜が空を覆うように続く並木道があります。
昔、3月11日の震災があった後、「もし大きな災害があって、お互い連絡が取れなくなった時は、あの桜通りで会おう」と約束をしたことを思い出し、その道をモチーフに作品を作りました。
さりげなく交わした約束を、運命が大きな意味のある言葉に変えてしまうことがあります。
そんなよくある風景を舞台に、映画にした次第です。
 
As the name "Sakura-dori" suggests, there is a tree-lined avenue in Fuchu City, Tokyo, where cherry blossoms in full bloom cover the sky in spring.
A long time ago, after the earthquake on March 11, I remembered that I promised to meet at Sakura-dori if there was a big disaster and I couldn't get in touch with each other. I made a work.
Destiny can turn a casual promise into a word of great significance.
I decided to make a movie on the stage of such a common landscape.
